How Parents Can Help

The Honest TruthIn Staffordshire, 40% of road traffic casualties involve a driver between the ages of 16 and 25, yet this age group represents only 12% of the county’s population. Research shows that one-in-five newly qualified drivers will have some kind of crash or incident within the first six months after passing their driving test.

In order to try and address this problem, I am working alongside Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership and The Honest Truth believing that small changes save lives. They offer a free P.A.N.I.C. app designed to help you in the first few moments if you are involved with a car crash. More help and information is available free at

So, if you are a parent who is also a supervising driver for your children, then maybe you could do with a helping hand? You will be able to attend any of your child's driving lessons to see where they need help and what skills they are more competent in and, importantly, to experience the driving test of today that your son or daughter will take to become a safe and independent driver.
